From the NP Tech for Good site's roundup of stats from various 2025 reports on AI usage in nonprofits in the US:​

​

  • 92% of nonprofits report that they feel unprepared for AI and 60% express uncertainty and mistrust. [AI Equity Project]

  • 41% agree that AI would greatly benefit nonprofits and 36% agree that AI would directly impact their fundraising strategies. [OneCause]

  • 40% of nonprofits say that no one in their organization is educated in AI. [Google.org]

  • The more generous the donor, the more likely they are to support nonprofits using AI – 30% for high donors, 19% for medium donors, and 13% for small donors. [Charities Aid Foundation]

  • 43% of donors say that AI use would have a positive or neutral effect on their giving. 31% say they would be less likely to donate. 9% would be more likely to donate. [Donor Perceptions of AI Report]

  • Nonprofits are using a wide range of AI chatbots, with the most popular being ChatGPT (57%), followed by Copilot (23%) and Gemini (14%). Very few nonprofits are using AI tools to create imagery, such as DALL-E (3%) and Midjourney (2%). [Charity Excellence Framework]

  • 75% of nonprofits believe that generative AI has the potential to transform their marketing efforts, but only 25% have “concrete ideas” for how generative AI is applicable in their organization. [Google.org]

Spark and Signal operates on sacred and traditional land that has been a site of human activity for over 15,000 years. We’re grateful to be on this land, and we struggle with the injustice of how we came to be here, striving to deepen our understanding and solidarity with Indigenous peoples. We are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

 

This territory is part of ‘the Dish with One Spoon’ wampum, a Treaty made between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas, and Haudenosaunee, where nations entered into an agreement to protect the land, and responsibly care for its resources in harmony. Toronto, a Mohawk word meaning ‘where there are trees standing in water’, is covered under the Toronto Treaty 13 of the Upper Canada Land Surrenders, and the Williams Treaties. We have all been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship, and respect. We are also mindful of broken treaties that persist across Turtle Island today and recognize our responsibilities as Treaty people to engage in a meaningful, continuous process of truth and reconciliation with all our relations.
