AI Workshops & Intensives
Start Safe. Scale Smart: Spark and Signal's Workshop Series
Practical, hands-on workshops that show you how to bring AI into your work responsibly. Come in uncertain; leave with a shared language, clear next steps, and the first pages of your AI Playbook. These two workshops are designed to work as a series: Workshop #1 builds the foundation, Workshop #2 scales it. If you're not sure, start with just one; either can stand alone depending on where your team is. Some customization is available within the series format. Reach out and let's talk about your needs.

Workshop #1: AI Foundations for Nonprofits | 2.5 hours

Who and when it's for:
Teams who know AI is already showing up in their work, but want structure, language, and guardrails to use it well. This is your starting point if you're not sure where you stand, what's safe to try, where to invest, or how to make the best decisions because everything seems so constantly changing and complicated.

What we do:
-
Build shared literacy and psychological safety around AI
-
Introduce practical frameworks for ethical, mission-aligned decisions
-
Map where AI already lives in your organization (including shadow AI)
-
Design one safe, measurable 30-day pilot, often tied to fundraising or communications
You'll get:
-
Confidence to talk about AI openly as a team
-
Decision-making frameworks you can reuse
-
A 30-day pilot plan with clear roles and guardrails
-
Follow-up templates and tools

Workshop #2: AI Strategy & Integration | 3 hours
Who and when it's for:
Teams already using AI in a number of ways, but in scattered or ad hoc or varying ways, often without strategic oversight or a policy. This workshop is for when you want to scale it intentionally, build governance, and align it with mission and values. Workshop #2 can be standalone, but was designed to follow Workshop #1.
What we do:
-
Surface and map AI activity across your entire organization
-
Turn successful pilots into repeatable practice
-
Build policy and governance grounded in evidence, not fear, using an ethical lens
-
Create measurement systems and a roadmap for the next 6-12 months
Deliverables:
-
An organizational AI playbook (where it lives, who's using it, what's working, how to evaluate, how decisions are made)
-
Policy outline and governance framework
-
30-60-90 day plans
Results:
You move from scattered experimentation to strategic, organization-wide capability, with the leadership clarity and systems to sustain it.
Beyond the Series: Custom Workshops & Training

The Start Safe. Scale Smart. series reflects what's working right now across the sector: distilled, tested, and ready to deliver. But if your team needs something tailored (board briefings, vendor selection frameworks, change management deep dives, or sector-specific scenarios), I design custom sessions too.
Custom workshops are priced at standard rates and typically require additional discovery to ensure they land well for your context.

Reduced fall rate available for the Start Safe. Scale Smart. series through fall 2025.
